Harry Kane sent a heartfelt message to "legend" Thomas Muller as his career with Bayern Munich came to an end following a 2-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup. The 34-year-old attacker had already confirmed earlier in the season that this campaign would be his last with the club and the defeat to the Parisians marked his final game in a Bayern shirt.

The French giants struck late through Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele, earning a spot in the semi-finals. Kane briefly thought he had scored, only for the effort to be chalked off for offside, and despite being reduced to nine men, PSG held on, ending Bayern’s tournament hopes to an end and also drawing the curtain on Muller's tenure at the club.

Muller departs having amassed an extraordinary collection of honours and statistics. Over the course of his career with Bayern Munich, he won 33 major trophies, which include 13 Bundesliga titles and two UEFA Champions League crowns. In 503 Bundesliga appearances, he emerged victorious on 362 occasions, scored 250 goals, and provided 276 assists, a testament to his remarkable consistency.
