The Gunners prevented Arne Slot’s squad from being able to confirm their coronation during the last round of fixtures. Any slip-up during a derby date with London rivals Crystal Palace on Wednesday will, however, see them spark wild celebrations on Merseyside.

Liverpool are not expected to see a crown handed to them, with it their intention to get the job done against Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday. Plans are, however, being put in place for all eventualities.
WHAT VIRGIL VAN DIJK SAID
Club captain Virgil van Dijk has said of getting everybody together to watch Arsenal in action – with similar scenes having played out back in 2020 when the Reds last claimed the Premier League title: “I expect Arsenal to win at home but, yeah, if it doesn’t happen then I think it would be nice to be together.
“So however that may look, we will discuss in the next couple of days. But if Arsenal just win that game, as they probably expect they will do against a very good Crystal Palace, then we have to do our job at the weekend.”

Dutch coach Slot is looking to land the grandest of prizes in his debut campaign at the helm, with Van Dijk adding on the progress made under Jurgen Klopp’s successor: “From day one when we started to work, obviously confidence grew, we saw what we are capable of, what we try to implement under the new regime and consistency is the main thing.
“[Did I expect] us to be in this position now? No. And not because I don’t believe in the boys. But it’s more that I think to be 13 points clear at this stage of the season, that’s even past my wildest dreams. But that’s the situation. We’ve worked so hard to be in this situation and now we have an opportunity to finish off.”
