Tigres have called for Lizbeth Ovalle to be shortlisted for this year's Puskas Award after a stunning acrobatic goal against Guadalajara.

Spain star Jenni Hermoso whipped a teasing cross into the box and then team-mate Ovalle buried a remarkable goal into the corner, something she later dubbed "the shrimp". After Tigres won 2-0, the Mexican club stressed she should be shortlisted for FIFA's 2025 Puskas Award (given to the best goal of the year at the Ballon d'Or awards).

After the match, the midfielder said via AP: "I don't even know how I did it. I haven't even seen it."

Although this strike has been referred to as a scorpion goal, Ovalle joked she would call her effort something a bit different.

"I'll call it the shrimp," she quipped.

The win saw Tigres leapfrog Guadalajara into fourth in Liga MX Femenil. Ovalle will hope to fire her team to victory again when they face Necaxa on March 7.
